Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on new small-business legislation proposed by Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, chair of the Senate Small Business Committee. Snowe has proposed emergency changes to federal law in response to the severe damage in the Gulf Coast states. Her legislation would raise the maximum Small Business Administration disaster loan to $10 million. Snowe is pushing several other small-business proposals in addition to the emergency measure.
