Abstract

"Focus on Greater Bangor" piece on Maine's export business. Last year, Maine sold more than twice the number of goods to Canada than the state sold to the entire European Union and imported nearly $4.7 billion in goods and services from Canada. Wade Merritt of the Maine International Trade Center helped organize a recent Maine-New Brunswick trade meeting in the Bangor/Orono area for young entrepreneurs from St. John, New Brunswick, in an attempt to break down perceived barriers to international trade. The September mission introduced entrepreneurs to business leaders in a new market.
