"Newsworthy" piece on the loss of Independence Air, the low-cost carrier that served Portland for nearly two years before its parent corporation went bankrupt. Jeff Schultes, manager of the Portland International Jetport, says it could take up to four years to land a new low-cost carrier. One selling point will be that Independence Air carried 20 percent more passengers in Portland than the company average.
