Abstract

"Focus: Building & Real Estate" piece on the trend toward high technology features in condominium development in Maine. Developers like Travis Soule, founder and president of SOLO Properties, see the inclusion of state-of-the technology features as a way to attract high-end buyers. Soule is running fiber-optic lines into the Island Point project in Lewiston and his Stevens Mill Estates project in Auburn. James Sterling, architect for the Kimball Court condominium project in Portland, doesn't consider connectivity a particular selling point, though the condos will feature wiring for cable TV/high-speed Internet access in all rooms.
