Abstract

Last summer the home shopping network QVC sent its mobile unit to Maine for four days of broadcasts. Maine was one of eight states selected after a national tour. The Maine Office of Tourism and Maine Film Office pitched a tour in which QVC Local trucks went to Houlton, Bar Harbor, Augusta, Portland, South Portland, Bath, Greenville, Wilton, Rangeley and Bethel. In a 20-hour broadcast, QVC sold $3.1 million worth of products from 42 Maine vendors.
