Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece on Hussey's General Store in Windsor. Housed in a 30,000-square-foot, three-story building, the store sells a diverse assortment of goods key to rural life. Among the groceries, garden supplies, guns, and appliances, Hussey's is also known for selling formal prom dresses and wedding gowns. In 1954, Mildred Hussey decided the women of Windsor needed access to beautiful dresses enjoyed by women in larger cities.
