Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece on Buckfield residents Stephen Voltz and Fritz Grobe, who created an elaborate fountain of foam using Mentos candy and Diet Coke. After discovering the explosive properties of the candy and soda combination, the pair posted a short video on the Internet of their version of the water show at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Voltz and Grobe, who launched the website to draw attention to their work at the Oddfellows Theater in Buckfield, are in negotiations with Mentos to develop promotions for the product. The pair appeared on the "Today" and "David Lettermen" shows.
