    Abstract

    "Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece on a proposal to study tidal energy's potential on the Kennebec River, which garnered opposition from national and local parties. Several groups, including the Maine State Planning Office, the Friends of Merrymeeting Bay and a private hydropower company, have filed for intervener status in response to an application submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) by Maine Tidal Energy Co. for a feasibility study.
