Abstract
"Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece reporting that Viking Lumber in Belfast recently filed a court claim against Belfast Bridge LLC, accusing the developer of the former Stinson Seafood plant of failing to pay for more than $228,000 in building materials. Viking Lumber is charging Belfast Bridge with breach of contract and unjust enrichment, and is seeking a court order to force the company to pay what is owed. Tom Roberts, principal at Belfast Bridge, came to Belfast in 2004 with plans to turn the former Stinson sardine plant into a residential and commercial center. Work on the development began last winter, but suddenly stopped in May, when Roberts said he needed to reorganize his financing.
