Abstract

"Focus on the Bangor region" piece on the proposed development of hotels along the Bangor riverfront, fueled by a park built for the annual American Folk Festival and a new racino, Hollywood Slots. Maine Course Hospitality Group of Freeport is proposing to build the 95-room Marriott Courtyard between the Bangor Mall and Interstate 95. Ocean Properties Ltd. of Portsmouth, NH, or Dublin 5 LLC might build a Marriott Courtyard or Hilton Garden with 150 rooms and conference space on Main Street. Penn National Gaming of Wyomissing, Penn., might build a 150-room hotel as part of the permanent Hollywood Slots racino complex. The Main Street Inn has been demolished and the nearby Holiday Inn will soon follow. Details.
