Abstract

"Business Maine: Statewide" piece reporting that companies funded by the Maine Technology Institute have shown significant economic growth and have had a positive impact on the state's economy, according to a five-year evaluation by the University of Southern Maine's Center for Business and Economic Research. Employment at the companies increased 6.2 percent between 2001 and 2006 - compared with 0.9 percent for the Maine economy as a whole.
