Abstract

"Focus on the Bangor Region" piece with a profile of John Rohman, 61, CEO of WBRC Architects-Engineers in Bangor, chair of the Maine Arts Commission, and a former mayor integral in promoting Bangor's downtown revitalization. Stressing quality of life and the creative economy, he effected tangible results, like bringing the National Folk Festival to the waterfront. In 2004, Gov. John Baldacci appointed him to co-chair his Creative Economy Council, and last year Rohman was elected president of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies. When he became the principal and major shareholder of WBRC, he made it possible for a number of his colleagues to become partners with an equal share in the firm. The company now has offices in Sarasota and Portland. With details on WBRC's revenue since 1997.
