Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece profiling Adam Ayan, mastering engineer at Portland's Gateway Mastering Studios and chair of the board of directors of the newly created Portland Music Foundation. For now, the organization is run by volunteers, some of whom offer workshops on music scene basics, such as how to attract media attention. Ayan says, "for such a small town, there's an awful lot of talent around across a span of genres"--talent he hopes to cultivate with PMF.
