Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece by David Williamson, national marketing director of New Jersey-based SureDeposit. He discusses the benefits of an update to Maine's landlord-tenant law. LD 1651 will allow landlords to offer tenants the lower-cost option of purchasing a surety bond in lieu of paying all or part of a security deposit. A $175 surety bond could provide up to $1,000 worth of protection.
