Abstract

"Business Maine" piece on Maine's fishing industry, including initiatives in York and Kennebunk to overhaul public fishing piers; a program that will require 10 percent of lobstermen to file fishing activity reports with the state; and a suit brought by the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance and the Midcoast Fishermen's Association against the National Marine Fisheries Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for allowing herring trawlers to fish in areas closed to other types of commercial fishing.
