Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Down East" piece reporting that a proposed eco-resort in Winter Harbor has Acadia National Park officials concerned about its impact. Bruno Modena of Milan, Italy, doing business as Winter Harbor Properties Inc., is proposing an eco-resort on 3,300 acres he owns near the entrance to the Schoodic Point section of Acadia National Park. No formal plans have been developed, but the project would be an eco-community incorporating land stewardship and sustainable development. Acadia National Park's superintendent, as well as a director of Friends of Acadia, both expressed concerns that the eco-resort could negatively impact the park.
