Abstract
"Focus: Tourism & Hospitality" piece on Maine's emerging wine industry. For most of Maine's wineries, many of which are fairly young, attracting visitors is essential for survival. To this end, the Maine Winery Guild has created the Maine Wine Trail, a map that links all the wineries within a day's drive. With comments by Elmer Savage, co-owner of Savage Oaks Vineyard and Winery in Union; Bettina Doulton, co-owner of Cellardoor Vineyard in Lincolnville; Bob Bartlett, co-owner of Bartlett Maine Estate Winery in Gouldsboro; and James Baranski, co-owner of Shalom Organic Orchard, Winery and B&B in Franklin. With a map of Maine Winery Guild members.
