Abstract

"Charting the Course" column by GrowSmart Maine's communications director, Christian McNeil. GrowSmart of Yarmouth worked with the Brookings Institute to produce "Charting Maine's Future" in 2006. In May, GrowSmart toured the state with David Osborne, author of "Reinventing Government." Osborne's Public Strategies Group recently helped the state of Iowa identify and initiate successful cost-cutting measures. GrowSmart's proposed "Governing Maine in the 21st Century" project would retain Osborne to conduct a similar study in this state.
