Abstract

"Focus on the Midcoast Region" piece on Chris Polson and Joe Calderwood, owners of Twin Brooks Stretchers in Lincolnville. Last year they expanded and posted their best year ever, despite the recession. The company is unique in making stretchers for canvas by taking the wood from log to finished product. They will hand-deliver products to artists, and they work symbiotically with Warren-based A.E. Sampson & Son, a flooring company that mills their wood to precise dimensions.
