Abstract

"The Third Sector" piece on York County Shelter Programs and executive director Don Gean. Gean and his staff are reducing energy consumption, and so far have saved 30 percent. A composting system reduced dumpster costs, and a newly-constructed green residence is heated by wood that is split and stacked by residents.
