Abstract
"Focus on Law" piece on the Portland firm Murray, Plumb and Murray and its latest noteworthy case, representing the plaintiffs in the Hannaford Bros. data breach. Last May, U.S. District Judge D. Brock Hornby ruled that the breach victims' inconvenience and lost time didn't constitute actual financial losses. There have been few opportunities for the high court in any state to consider what is a cutting edge new issue in e-commerce law, and the case will be watched closely as it heads to Maine's Supreme Judicial Court. With details on Peter Murray, who resigned from teaching at Harvard Law School in order to teach at the new Husson University Law School in Bangor.
