Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on Maine's health care sector, an industry that is Maine's largest job creator and that will continue to grow with the aging population. Over the 2008 to 2018 period, health care sector jobs are expected to increase by more than four times the average rate for all industries in Maine. By 2030, 26.5 percent of Maine's population is expected to be over the age of 65, second only to Florida.
