Abstract

"Focus York County" commentary piece by Peter Mills, interim executive director of the Maine Turnpike Authority. Mills addresses the need to improve the Maine Turnpike's York County corridor through replacement of the York toll plaza, improving the rest stops, and by fixing issues on all three bridges that carry traffic between Portsmouth and Kittery. The York County corridor is the "welcome mat" to visitors entering Maine and should entice tourists to return and visit all areas of the state.
