Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece about better than expected state revenues in May that were $18.7 million above projections. The three major state tax sources ù corporate income tax, personal income tax and sales tax ù are all above revised expectations and indicate that the economy is continuing its slow improvement. Finance Commissioner Sawin Millet says that since June projections are meeting or exceeding forecasts, he expects the state's fiscal year will end with a "significant" surplus.
