Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on efforts by state officials to save money by encouraging veterans using Medicaid to shift some or all of their health coverage to the Veterans Administration programs, without impacting the benefits they currently receive. Maine has one of the highest per capita rates of veterans in the country, around 150,000, and only about 40,000 Maine veterans are currently making use of VA programs.
