Abstract
Public and private schools in Maine and across the U.S. have begun to see international students as a way to generate revenue. Ken Smith, the new superindendent of the Millinocket School Department, addressed a $1.1 million budget deficit.with a plan to recruit international students who would pay tuition to attend high school. This trend would bring financial benefits and would create a more diverse educational environment in Maine.
