Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on protests generated by proposed cuts to the Department of Health and Human Services budget to cover a $220 million shortfall. The proposed optional Medicaid program cuts include health insurance coverage for low income childless adults and 19- and 20-year-olds, substance abuse treatment programs, and non-medical institution housing for people dealing with dementia, mental illness, and addiction.
