Abstract

A new Efficiency Maine program will provide monetary incentives to landlords who own mid-size multi-family buildings (buildings with five to twenty units) to reduce their buildings' total energy consumption by 20%. These types of buildings have been challenging for energy auditors in the past, but grant funding has allowed for additional training in this area. The program hopes to attract applications for 2,500 units, and to approve retrofits for 1,800.
