Abstract

“Focus Greater Portland” piece on Portland’s third annual economic scorecard which compares the city with regional and national peers. Portland lags behind the national benchmark regions in such factors as regional employment growth, airline passenger counts, and housing affordability. It exceeds in areas such as regional retail sales and gross metro product growth. The scorecard, which is produced by the Portland Community Chamber, aims to provide hard data that the city can use in its economic planning.
