Abstract
“Focus Central & Western Maine” piece looks at Oxford Casino and how it has paid off financially for owner Churchill Downs Inc. There is competition looming on the horizon, however, in the form of several proposed new casinos in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. The article examines the contention surrounding Maine’s seven proposed projects and examines the capacity for the area to support additional large-scale casinos.
