Abstract

“Focus: Healthcare and Wellness” piece looks at how Maine doctors are increasingly adopting a new model of primary care practice called patient-centered medical homes (PCMH). PCMH focuses on helping people stay healthy, and may also reduce health care costs. Reports from around the country show mixed results as the PCMH pilot programs approaches its halfway point.
