Abstract

The reestablishment of Helen’s Restaurant in Machias, after it burned down in 2014, was a turning point in the revitalization efforts of the town to establish itself as more of a destination location than just a place to stop to eat on the way to somewhere else in Maine. The chamber and individual businesses are at work to find ways to promote the town for its history, culture, scenic and recreational aspects. [images]
