A list of Maine's largest private employers ranked by average monthly employment range in 2016 is presented. Number of employees in Maine, principal locations in Maine and industry type are given. Ranked in descending order are Maine Medical Center, Hannaford Bros., Wal-Mart Stores Inc./Sam's Club, Bath Iron Works Corp., L.L. Bean Inc., Eastern Maine Medical Center, Central Maine Healthcare Corp., MaineGeneral Medical Center, TD Bank NA, and Unum, and Shaw's Supermarkets.
