Abstract

The city of Saco, with a business-friendly climate, easy access to the interstate and other transportation access, and affordable real estate for businesses and workers, is attracting a cluster of seafood processors and distributors. Among the businesses finding a welcome here are Sea Salt Lobster Co., Luke's Lobster Seafood Co., Ready Seafood, and Atlantic Sea Farms. These companies have specialized needs -- floor drains and wastewater treatment, for example -- and have found that Saco had the necessary infrastructure.
