Abstract
An in-depth look at how the use of technology for health care is being embraced by Mainers and by medical providers alike, especially during the pandemic. Boxborough, Massachusetts-based Senscio Systems is one such provider. Senscio has partnered with Avesta Housing to provide virtual care via tablets and phone for senior and disable residents. Senscio plans to hire 500 people in Maine in the next few years to keep up with their expansion. The article looks at the benefits of telemedicine and at some of the barriers and its growing use by urgent care centers and hospitals around the state.
