Abstract

Overview of four new craft beer companies launched in Maine in 2020: Trinken Brewing Co. of West Bath; Outland Farm Brewery of Pittsfield; Marshall Wharf Brewing and Three Tides brewpub of Belfast; and Bath Ale Works of Wiscasset. Discusses each company and the unique challenges they have experienced while trying to launch during the coronavirus pandemic. Also discusses the history, scope, and impact of Maine's thriving craft beer scene, ranked fourth nationally in revenue by the Colorado-based nonprofit trade and industry group the Brewers Association.
