Abstract
A look at how Maine's employers are struggling to diversify the workforce, even as the unemployment numbers for Maine's people of color remain in double digits. Deb Breiting and Kim Greason founded Maine Intercultural Communication Consulting after seeing how hard it was for their English language learners to get hired. Unum's Office of Inclusion and Diversity has also worked to ensure that diversity works in reality. Includes a sidebar that breaks down what systemic racism looks like in Maine.
