Abstract

A feature piece about the U.S. Small Business Administration 504 program which provides long-term, below-market, fixed-rate loans for eligible commercial projects. In Maine, the loans are mostly used for purchasing commercial real estate, according to Diane Sturgeon of SBA's Maine District Office. The article provides a few examples of Maine businesses that successfully applied for SBA 504 loans, including Justin "Jay" Gould's AutoMile Motors, Ian Dorsey's Mast Landing Brewing Co., and Westbrook's Frog & Turtle Gastro Pub.
