Abstract

A look at Lyman-Morse's $15 million improvement project for its boatyard in Camden. The company plans to build a new 33,000-square-foot marine service complex. Camden's planning and development director, Jeremy Martin, says that this project -- the creation of a modern working waterfront -- will benefit the whole town, as Lyman-Morse is one of the town's largest employers, as well as its customers. Construction plans include installing a new retaining wall and raising buildings above flood level, as violent storms become more frequent. The town of Camden also has plans for improvement projects, including assessing the resilience of the public landing to sea level rise.
