Abstract

An in-depth look at how the Maine Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), part of the U.S. Small Business Administration, helped nearly 3,000 small business owners with free advising and resources in 2020.SBDC began by connecting virtually with its established clients. It also created the Recovery & Relaunch Resource Center and created or saved over 500 jobs. Among the businesses it helped -- Michael Stiggle's Timberwolves Restaurant in Mars Hill; Pauline Eldredge's nursery, Trailside Gardens in Abbott; and Joe Brown's Orland-based livestock farm, Longshot Revival Homestead.
