Abstract

An in-depth look at how regional chambers of commerce have navigated the challenges of the pandemic. Historically reliant on in-person networking events, chambers around the state have found new ways to connect with members, from speaker series held via Zoom, as in the successful initiative launched by the Kennebec Valley Chamber called "Chamber Connect," to offering new membership pricing models and virtual board meetings, strategies adopted by the LA Metro Chamber. Several chambers closed or scaled back. The cancellation of the Yarmouth Clam Festival for two years hit the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce hard, as it provided a large potion of their budget.
