Abstract

Danone S.A., the owner of the Horizon Organic dairy brand, will not renew its contracts with 14 Maine organic dairy farms. Maine does not have a processing plant for organic milk in the state. It is unclear how this blow will affect Maine's dairy community. Diary products account for a large portion of the state's agricultural sales.
