Abstract
Long known for its shipbuilding and related history, the city of Bath also has a vibrant downtown retail and restaurant industry- which is relatively rare today among Maine cities.
A recently adopted fit-up grant program will be instrumental in helping businesses seeking to open or expand, by providing matching funds up to $12,500. The program is modeled after Freeport's downtown grant program.
