Abstract

"This Just In" piece on Isaiah Oliver, 23, of Peaks Island. This summer Oliver hiked nearly 1,000 miles of the Appalachian Trail from his dorm at the University of Richmond in Virginia to Peaks Island. He hiked in honor of his late friend Andrew, and to raise money and awareness of the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. Oliver raised $14,000, most of which went to Doctors Without Borders to fund their efforts in Darfur.
