Abstract

"Cover Story" piece noting that the last time Portlanders elected a city council, only 2,093 of an estimated 45,000 voters showed up, and giving voters 11 reasons to vote on Nov. 6, including controlling the city's coffers, holding property taxes in check, influencing the future of the city's waterfront, weighing in on the city's school system, endorsing universal health care, and creating affordable housing, among others.
