Abstract

New York native Alice Dunn, 46, opened her first small salvage store on Munjoy Hill in Portland, and is now at her third relocation. Portland Architectural Salvage occupies four floors and 26,000 square feet in a former mattress factory in the Bayside neighborhood. Dunn recently sold a wooden display cabinet from the historic McLellan-Sweat house crafted by architect John Calvin Stevens for the Portland Art Museum.
