Abstract

This year, the Mystery Writers of America bestowed their highest award of Grand Master on Stephen King. The Edgars, named after Edgar Allen Poe, were held in New York City. The author Michael Kimball was another Maine nominee, along with Kate Flora, Portland Police Captain Joe Loughlin, and Robin Merrow MacCready. The author describes his attempts to greet King, who generously aided him when he was a novice writer.
