Abstract
Journal of Lt. Chris Barrows, commanding officer of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Wrangler, which is homeported in Portland and was deployed to the Persian Gulf in February. Barrows details the activities of the cutter and crew from October, 2002, through May, 2003, mentioning patrols providing protection to Iraqi oil wells, and providing the lead escort for the first humanitarian aid shipment into the port of Umm Qasr, Iraq.
