Abstract
Article on St. Dominic's Church in Portland, which was purchased from the city in 2002 and is now known as the Maine Irish Heritage Center (MIHC). John O'Dea, executive director of MIHC, said the facility is being used on a regular basis by a number of groups for social events, Irish language classes, Irish dancing, and lectures on history and genealogy. With details on the history of the church, and a description of the 1855 "June" or "Dow" Liquor Riot which will be commemorated at the center this year.
