Abstract

Maine Education Commissioner Leo Martin has issued a draft education reform plan entitled "A Reaffirmation of Faith in Maine's Public Schools," and is soliciting comments on the plan from Maine's educators to incorporate into a final document to be released in January. Martin says that the expanded social role of schools has eroded their resource base and cut into academic innovation. Details, related article.
